This is a short opening titles sequence for a Jackanory-style bedtime story programme for KKids Media. It goes out on TBN.
The challenge with this project was the teddy bear's fur. The set uses global illumination to get that lovely realistic lighting, but the fur took much too long to render that way. The solution was to exclude the fur from the set lighting and illuminate it separately using a more economical set-up. There's still something not quite right about the fur, though. You see the horizontal stripes? Turns out they are the result of using a low resolution mesh for the model, and then sub-dividing it at render time. The solution here is to sub-divide the model before rendering. Next time...
